Day Two adventures – Dawn Schmid

WOW! The first full day of the trip is over and it was wonderful! I’m fighting some sort of sickness so I am not sleeping well at all, but it has been worth it. We started the day with breakfast at a diner. I had an english muffin and it was delicious! I was very much still asleep at breakfast, but awake enough to appreciate a good meal! Then we moved on to the costume tour!  It was so awesome. I loved seeing all of the costumes hanging up. It was so difficult not to want to reach out and touch them! I took loads and loads of pictures. Then, at the end of the tour, we had time to try on some costumes and that was so much fun. Seeing everyone dress up in these ridiculous costumes was awesome. After the tour we went and walked around for a while and did some shopping. Probably one thing that I was looking forward to on this trip. The little shops around town are so cool to look in. There is so much cool stuff here. The first of the two shows that we saw today was King Lear. It was very heavy and not as joyous and fun as the show from the night before, but it was still very good. I really enjoyed it. But, the highlight of the day had to be the production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The crazy thing about that show was where we were sitting…on the floor right by the stage! It was awesome. The actors were right there next to us, encouraging us to dance and react along with them. This was a very modern adaptation of the show and I thought it was so entertaining. I loved it and I can’t wait to see more!
